About
An independent, evidence-based supplement reference
CareDoctor is an independent, evidence-based reference for vitamins, minerals and dietary supplements. We answer one question for each: what does it do, how much do you need, how much is too much, and is it safe. We sell nothing and recommend no brands.
Where our authority comes from
Our authority is not a claim of clinical expertise. It is the government sources we stand on, shown transparently on every page. We summarise, in plain language, what the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, the National Academies Dietary Reference Intakes, and other public health authorities report, and we cite each source so you can check it yourself.
The editor
Maya Ellison is the health content editor at caredoctor. She researches and edits the site's supplement references and is accountable for what caredoctor publishes. Maya is not a doctor or registered dietitian; the site's role is to summarise, in plain language, what public health authorities such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and the National Academies report, and to cite every source so readers can verify it. For personal medical questions, please consult a qualified professional. Read the editor's page.
How we are funded
CareDoctor is free to read and funded by advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. Advertising never buys coverage, a conclusion, or a place in a guide. See our editorial guidelines and sourcing standards.
Not medical advice
