Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using CareDoctor. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • "Affiliate" means an entity that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.
  • "Company" (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Decido LLC, publisher of CareDoctor (www.caredoctor.com).
  • "Content" means the monographs, guides, reference figures, articles, and other educational material published on the Service.
  • "Country" refers to: California, United States.
  • "Service" refers to the CareDoctor website and the Content made available through it.
  • "Third-party Sources" means the public health authorities and datasets We cite, including the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) and the NIH/NASEM Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI).
  • "You" means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Nature of the Service - Informational Only

CareDoctor is an independent, evidence-based reference for vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements. The Content is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It summarizes and cites public health authorities in plain English.

The Company is not a medical provider, and the Service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Using the Service does not create a doctor-patient, pharmacist-patient, or any other professional relationship between You and the Company.

Dietary supplements are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and statements about them have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting, stopping, or changing any supplement, medication, or health regimen. If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. Your use of the Service is also subject to Our Medical Disclaimer.

Acknowledgement

These Terms govern the use of the Service and set out the rights and obligations of all users. Your access to and use of the Service is conditional on Your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and with Our Privacy Policy. If You disagree with any part of these Terms, You may not access the Service.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original Content (excluding material sourced from Third-party Sources, which remains the property of its respective owners), together with the CareDoctor name, features, and functionality, are and will remain the exclusive property of the Company and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the Country and foreign countries.

Figures and data drawn from U.S. government sources such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements are generally in the public domain; where We reproduce them, We do so with attribution. Our editorial text, structure, and design may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without Our prior written consent. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of the Company.

Permitted Use

You may access and read the Content for Your own personal, non-commercial reference. You agree not to misuse the Service, including by:

  • Republishing or redistributing substantial portions of the Content as your own, or for commercial gain, without permission.
  • Presenting the Content as personalized medical advice or as an endorsement of any product or brand.
  • Attempting to disrupt, scrape at scale, or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.

Links to Other Websites

The Service contains links to third-party websites, including government sources We cite. The Company has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. We link to primary sources so that You can verify figures at their origin, but We do not endorse and are not responsible for external content. We strongly advise You to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites You visit.

No Endorsement of Products or Brands

CareDoctor sells nothing and recommends no brands. References to a nutrient, form, or category are educational and are not endorsements of any specific commercial product, manufacturer, or seller.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend Your access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including if You breach these Terms. Upon termination, Your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Company or its suppliers be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits or data, for business interruption, for personal injury, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on the Content) arising out of or in any way related to the use of or inability to use the Service, even if the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Notwithstanding any damages that You might incur, the entire liability of the Company under any provision of these Terms shall be limited to the amount actually paid by You, if any, through the Service, or $100 USD if You have not paid anything. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to You; in those states, liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer

The Service and Content are provided to You "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," with all faults and defects and without warranty of any kind. While We strive for accuracy and cite Our sources, nutrition science evolves and recommended intakes and safety ceilings may be updated. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the Company disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and makes no representation that the Content is complete, current, accurate, or suitable for Your individual circumstances.

Governing Law

The laws of the Country, excluding its conflicts of law rules, shall govern these Terms and Your use of the Service. Your use of the Service may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.

Disputes Resolution

If You have any concern or dispute about the Service, You agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the Company.

For European Union (EU) Users

If You are a European Union consumer, You will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which You are resident.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right, at Our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use the Service once revisions become effective, You agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
