Zinc picolinate is commonly found in capsule and tablet supplements aimed at everyday immune and metabolic support.

Zinc picolinate is a reasonable option for daily oral supplementation when tolerability is a priority, though there is no strong evidence that it produces meaningfully different health outcomes than other well-absorbed forms at equivalent elemental zinc doses.
Zinc Acetate
Zinc acetate has been studied primarily in lozenge form for cold duration, similar to zinc gluconate. Some researchers have argued that zinc acetate releases zinc ions more efficiently in the throat than gluconate, which could be relevant for lozenges specifically. As with gluconate, the NIH ODS rates the cold-duration evidence as limited. Zinc acetate is less commonly found in standard capsule supplements than the other two forms.

Zinc acetate lozenges are a reasonable alternative to gluconate lozenges for short-term use at cold onset. For everyday capsule supplementation it is less commonly available, making picolinate or gluconate more practical choices for most people.
